5th December 2011, RCPGB completed 11 years of its existence and we celebrated it in a grand way by donating a Rotary distance Education Program kit to the Night School at Saraswati Mandir along with a TV and DVD player. Rotary Distance Education program is a e-learning teaching tool/aid which will help students of std VIII , IX and Xth learn the school syllabus in an interactive and interesting way. This is a program of DIST 3131 and it is the first time that RDEP was implemented in a night school. The total project cost for this prject is approx Rs 65,000/- . RCPGB, Dist 3131 and Rtn Sunil and Ujjwala Barve contributed equally to raise thisamount and hence this project was possible. Rtn Sunil and Ujjwala Barve donated Rs 22,500/- in memory of their late mother Mrs Shashi Barve who also during her lifetime took special efforts to help needy students. The cheque was presented by PP Ashatai and PP Sanjay to Dist RDEP team. TV and DVD player was donated by Mr and Mrs VP Shintre. Rtn. Ravi Dhotre and Rtn. Biren Dharmasi were present from the Dist RDEP team to give the demo and explain the concept to the students. Rtn Ravi Dhotre in his inimitable style explained the relevance of the project and gave a few examples, especially about how to remembe the Pascals Theorm which were throughly enjoyed by the stundets as well Rotarians and teachers.
